WFS Plastics Program
Imagining a better future. Using waste shampoo bottles to make parts for assistive devices for children in need.
Haircuts For The Homeless
Maroochydore Neighbourhood Centre
450 haircuts and counting, thanks to the WFS team of Amanda Oxley, Elayne Smeeton-Denith and multiple other hairdressers who gave up their time.
Hair Products For The Homeless
Distributed 350 excess or change over hair products and hair goods to the homeless, donated by member salons or product companies.
Charity Days
Volunteers spent a day sorting and managing waste systems. Donations of $500 were raised towards purchasing a plastic shredding machine.Visit Quota (NFP).Visit Quota (NFP).
School Programs: STEM
‘Ideas That Make a Difference’ program in schools aligns with the Science and Technology curriculum, with a focus on the environment and waste streams.
Corporate Days
Farmaforce Corporate charity day proves innovative companies want to help the planet. The Farmaforce sales team came into the warehouse for the day to learn how to sort and managing waste streams.
Grant Projects
Did you know… a collaboration with the UTS Rapido Social Department lead to testing HDPE hairdressing waste plastic for use as filament in 3D Printing machines will now be submitted by the Department as a paper.
Our collaboration with USC students to test hairdressing waste plastics for repurpose.
Fundraising
