Waste Free Systems has new owners, fresh investment and a fast-moving growth strategy.
Experienced technology CEO and serial entrepreneur Dale Rankine has moved to take on Waste Free Systems as the new Managing Director and owner. Dale has founded several technology, product and services companies over nearly 30 years, and this move into highly scalable local enterprises will build on the lessons and experience has gained over that time.
The acquisition was completed last month with founder and former-owner Bernie Craven. Already, the business is moving to 50% larger premises on the Sunshine Coast, has undergone a complete brand refresh and website relaunch, and is currently planning for services in new verticals as well as expanded offerings to the core customer base in the hair salon industry.
"If you'd told me 2 years ago that I would be taking over a waste management company, I wouldn't have believed you", said Rankine.
"I'd just come out of selling my last company and was wondering what was next. As time passed, my interests shifted towards a different kind of company profile and operating model; one that had impact and purpose, was based out of my local area, and had the potential to achieve healthy growth from a strong foundation."
After starting a search that focused on small Sunshine Coast operations in varying types of B2B essential services, Waste Free Systems was discovered and quickly firmed as the right opportunity.
