What else do we collect?
Plastic comes in all shapes, sizes and compositions. Most of it can be recycled into new products.
Every business uses plastic
Plastic is everywhere! It's a ubiquitous component of modern life, yet remains a major pollutant in our environment. Keeping plastic from entering landfill and waterways is the first step to slowing ecological damage from plastic. From there, processing and repurposing of plastic material into new products (everything from playground equipment, prosthetics, car parts, and even 3D printing filament) can close the loop on the lifecycle of plastic materials.
Every 100kg of plastic we recycle is the equivalent of saving the emissions from driving 7,500 kilometres.
What do we do with what we collect?
We work with processing partners who can take products with Resin Identification Codes 1 (PETE), 2 (HDPE), 4 (LDPE) and 5 (PP) and convert them back into raw plastic material for use in creating new products. Other codes then go to council transfer stations.
